The Summer Intensive workshop is a foundation for
the study of Physical Theatre. The school attracts students from
all over the world providing a diverse and rich cultural theatrical
experience for participants.
In the twenty years that we have offered this exciting programme
we have found that it is most challenging for performing artists,
writers, directors and teachers who want an introduction to physical
theatre and for experienced artists with allied acting or dance
background who want to add new skills and experience to their existing
lexicon.
The workshop is an exploration of aspects of the School's pedagogy
as a basis for dramatic study. The course is comprised of movement
analysis theatrical acrobatics, technique, improvisation and presentation.
Situations are taken from daily life, and study of mask and character
and theatrical style complete the programme. Each summer the design
of the workshop develops and changes.
The workshop is a two-week, full time intensive programme and
is offered in August each year. London has the most dynamic theatre
